CPC-Keep praying and Consider this

Friends,

I am sitting at my desk on a Saturday after spending this morning with a wonderful group of women. They were in the last post abortion recovery group and now God is placing them in positions to lead and facilitate the new fall groups. So exciting to see broken hearts fully restored.

I started to check my email now after working the day and ready to go home and I received a notice with some pictures. I want to share with you today if you would please take just a moment and consider my thoughts...

As our group spent time together this morning, each one had time to share and the thing that came up over and over again is, "If anyone really knew the damage it (abortion) does to you emotionally they would not sit back and ignore what it is. The damage to your relationships and your self confidence and the way you view God and how you feel about your spiritual relationship with the Lord after an abortion. If people would just truly listen to US, those who know...abortion would not be so popular and women would have a chance to hear the truth. If Christians would hold up signs in front of churches and clinics that said "God loves you, He wants the best for you. God restores the broken hearted and, My sin is no greater than your sin" then women would not be so afraid to go and share the secret and seek healing.

Think on this...your teen daughter/grand-daughter can walk into a abortion clinic and have an abortion and you will not be informed or required to give consent. However; her school nurse may not give her an Advil for a headache at school. Your teenager cannot walk into an ER and receive treatment without your permission but she can walk into an abortion clinic and have a medical procedure done without your knowledge. My teenage daughters would not even know what allergies they have to medications without my help but they could consent to an abortion?!!

Without parental notification your high schooler can have someone take her to have an abortion at a clinic across town (a boyfriend, his parent, a older sibling or friend) and you would not know. However; if your child skips school, breaks the law or does anything before the age of 18 years old, you are fully responsible because they are a minor. If your child is missing from first period, your going to get a phone call, most likely. So consider being told your teen daughter is not in school and you later find out she was having an abortion performed by a doctor across Houston and the state says the clinic does not need or require your permission....

Their frustration of these women is because they have been healed and the damage and bondage is gone but the impact it had on each one and the hurt they have for the women that are still locked in the shame and being lied to every day, is what ignites the fire in each one.

I read recently some updated statistics on abortion. Did you know that 85% of women who experienced an abortion said they were hoping for a last minute alternative to be offered to them even up to the point of going inside the abortion clinic.

92% of these women surveyed said they experienced an emotional deadening after the abortion.

86% stated they felt a increased tendency toward rage.

75% reported less self-confidence that lead to eating disorders, depression and isolation

73% reported loss of intimacy with their husband

58% reported insomnia and nightmares.

56% reported feeling suicidal

53% started to use drugs and alcohol to forget the abortion

So, with those numbers in mind, I will get back to the point of my earlier e-mail. It came from the President of Planned Parenthood in Houston and included nice pictures of the brand new state of the art abortion facility that is being built right here in Houston on the Gulf Freeway. The largest free-standing abortion facility in the entire U.S. Please see at the bottom of this e-mail. I just spent an entire morning listening in a small group to women share their hearts because of the damage that abortion has caused in their lives and how they were never told the possibilities of what was in store for them after the abortion. I cannot help but see these pictures and consider all of the women and teenage girls that will walk through those doors and come out a different person as the cycle continues. Please continue to pray for us and for the organizations that are working so hard to share the gift of LIFE. As Planned Parenthood builds their million dollar facility, many of us struggle to keep bibles and pregnancy test in stock. Pray for the women that will attend the fall Post Abortion Support Group---God knows who they are!

Boots & Booties Celebration of 25 years!

Well, we decided to do something different this year and put together our very first Boots & Booties Bar-B-Q. We had a wonderful time outside under the stars at Timber Creek Golf Club with fantastic food and live music.

Many friends and supporters of the CPC came to visit, to eat, fellowship and celebrate LIFE! The food was ALMOST as good as the fellowship!

We were able to visit with our supporters and meet new faces. We were also given an opportunity to share our LEAVE A LEGACY campaign to raise the funds to purchase our facility. We have 1-year left on our lease and then we will have the opportunity to purchase the building as our own! It is so very exciting when you consider the Legacy you are leaving behind for the future leaders and clients at the Center.

In December we will have a Informational Meeting for anyone to come by and visit with us and take a tour of the CPC. In January we will start registration for Forgiven and Set Free - A Post abortion Bible study and February we will hold our Counselor Full Training.

Wow, now that was quite the event! As we packed and cleaned and closed our doors on Thursday not one of us were prepared for such a huge storm on Friday evening.
I am blessed to say the CPC has withstood minus some trees and shrubs and part of our back door cover.

Many of our volunteers and such are displaced and without power so please continue to pray for them. Pini, Lola and myself will be at the Center half day's this week trying to locate folks and get somewhat back to normal as possible.

We are of course concerned about funding as we know that folks are in a post-hurricane daze right now so please continue to pray that God will put in the hearts to support the ministry this month and pray for our strength and to remember that God is bigger than the storm. We have a newsletter ready and will soon be mailing it out. It has been delayed but with the printing company regaining power we hope to have it mailed this week. Keep your eyes on the mail as it is a beautiful letter with COLOR and some great client stories.

Pray for Houston and the areas that are affected. Pray clients continue to seek wise counsel in what now may be a crisis pregnancy due to housing and finances and job loss.

Informational Meeting Coming Up!

The Center is hosting a Informational Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 27th 1t 10:00am. This will be a time for anyone wanting to find out more about the CPC to drop in and visit with staff, take a tour and learn about the ministry. We are going to provide a light breakfast and it will be a very informal time of just sharing and answering questions.
We do request a RSVP so that we can know you are attending!
